Isn't it so rewarding, earning the trust and companionship of an animal. Whatever it may be. A dog, or little mouse with his nest in a cage. Simple communication that may not necessarily be verbal. I don't see anything weird about chattering away happily with the aforementioned mouse though. Human relationships are just so messy in comparison?
